M365 migration timelines depend on the source platform and organization size. From Google Workspace for organizations under 50 users: 2–4 weeks for email and calendar migration, longer if Google Drive to SharePoint file migration is included. From on-premises Exchange (small to mid-size organizations): 2–4 weeks for a cutover migration, or 4–8 weeks for a hybrid migration that allows a phased transition. From hosted email providers (GoDaddy, Rackspace, etc.): 1–3 weeks. File server migration to SharePoint: 2–6 weeks depending on data volume and permission complexity. The migration timeline is driven primarily by validation — Gradius validates data at each stage before proceeding to ensure nothing is lost before the source platform is decommissioned. Organizations are not left without email during migration; the approach maintains email access throughout with a planned cutover window, typically over a weekend.

The right Microsoft 365 plan depends on what features the organization needs. Microsoft 365 Business Basic ($6–7/user/month) includes Exchange Online email, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive — sufficient for organizations that primarily need email and basic collaboration. Microsoft 365 Business Standard ($12–15/user/month) adds the desktop Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and additional Teams features. Microsoft 365 Business Premium ($22–26/user/month) adds Intune for device management and Defender for Business for endpoint security — the most cost-effective plan for organizations that need endpoint security as part of their M365 investment. Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 are enterprise licensing tiers that add advanced compliance, security, and analytics features appropriate for larger or more regulated organizations. Gradius assesses which plan tier is appropriate for each employee role — some users may need Business Premium while others need only Business Basic — and manages the license mix to balance cost with capability.
