Design workstation configuration differs meaningfully from standard office workstation setup. For Adobe Photoshop, RAM allocation and scratch disk configuration directly affect performance with large files — we configure Photoshop's performance settings to match the workstation's hardware rather than leaving defaults in place. For After Effects and Premiere Pro, GPU acceleration (CUDA or OpenCL) needs to be enabled and properly configured. For all creative applications, storage throughput matters — we ensure that active project storage is on fast local or NAS storage rather than slower network paths. We also monitor workstation health proactively so RAM, storage, and thermal issues are identified before they cause a crash during a production session.

Large file archive backup for design firms requires a different approach than standard office backup.
