Gradius cloud infrastructure management includes: Azure VM and compute management — monthly OS patching coordinated with business schedules, 24/7 availability monitoring with alerting, monthly right-sizing reviews, and performance management; cloud networking and security — VNet and NSG configuration and maintenance, Entra ID governance with conditional access policies and quarterly access reviews, privileged identity management; cloud cost governance — monthly spend reviews, anomaly alerting, right-sizing recommendations, reserved instance management, and resource lifecycle policies; hybrid cloud connectivity — Azure VPN Gateway and ExpressRoute management, routing configuration, and hybrid application performance monitoring; cloud backup and disaster recovery — Azure Backup and Site Recovery configuration, retention policy management, periodic recovery testing, and RTO/RPO validation; and cloud security posture management — Defender for Cloud review, Secure Score improvement, configuration baseline enforcement. The savings from cloud cost optimization depend on how unmanaged the environment has been, but typical findings include: over-provisioned VMs running at significantly below capacity (right-sizing these commonly reduces VM costs 20–40%); unused resources — storage accounts, disks, public IP addresses, and load balancers from decommissioned workloads that are still generating charges; development and test environments that run on the same expensive VM sizes as production rather than being right-sized for non-production workloads; and reserved instance opportunities where predictable workloads are on on-demand pricing that is significantly more expensive than 1- or 3-year reserved commitments. Azure Secure Score is Microsoft's continuous assessment of your cloud security posture — it evaluates hundreds of configuration settings across your Azure environment and assigns a percentage score based on how many security recommendations have been implemented. A low Secure Score reflects specific security gaps: publicly accessible storage accounts, VMs with open management ports, accounts without MFA, unencrypted disks, over-permissioned service principals. These aren't theoretical risks — they're the specific configurations that attackers probe for and exploit. Most unmanaged Azure environments sit at 30–50% Secure Score. Organizations with actively managed cloud security typically achieve 70–85%. Gradius tracks Secure Score improvement as a measurable outcome of the cloud security posture management program — giving clients a concrete metric that security is improving rather than degrading.

Cloud infrastructure management and Microsoft 365 administration overlap at the Entra ID layer — Entra ID is both the identity system for Azure infrastructure and the identity system for Microsoft 365. Gradius manages both: Entra ID governance (conditional access, access reviews, privileged identity management) as part of cloud infrastructure, and the full Microsoft 365 tenant administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, licensing, security configuration) as part of the broader managed IT or cloud services program. The initial cloud infrastructure assessment — covering VM utilization, security posture, cost allocation, and backup status — is completed within one week. Monitoring and alerting configuration is in place within the first week as well. Monthly patching, cost review, and security posture review cycles begin from the first full month of the engagement. Right-sizing recommendations from the initial assessment are typically implemented within the first 30 days. Backup and DR testing is completed within the first 60 days.
